Afro Innovation Group is one of the leading charities in Leicester working directly with refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants. Our aim is to empower our beneficiaries so they can access essential services in the UK, move into sustainable employment, and become an integral part of Leicester’s thriving multicultural community.
We provide free and confidential advice to support people to overcome their problems, and we are a voice for asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants on the issues that matter them. We provide practical and emotional support to over 500 people every year, and every month we support approximately 5 people into employment. We deliver a range of specialist projects to support our beneficiaries, including back-to-work programmes, recreational and befriending activities, and destitution services.
We have the knowledge, background and expertise to help people rebuild their lives, and we engage with other local partners who share the goal of driving inequalities out of Leicester.
Every Wednesday we run a weekly drop-in service that is open to anyone who is interested in our services or wants to learn more about what we do. Grab the opportunity to join us – there is no need to register or book in advance.
The session is run by our staff every Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. They include free refreshments, the opportunity to talk and socialise with others, and the opportunity to take part in a social activity such as board games or story-telling.
The legal definition of a charitable organization varies between countries and in some instances regions of the country.
