Afro-Innovation Group develop a project of music workshops with disadvantaged communities living in Leicester City. The project culminating in a Afro-Show whereby project participants will demonstrate their learning within the project in a celebration style event.

The project help participants to explore the benefit of music in overcoming adversity, bringing some joy into the lives of project participants and helping people have a positive experience within a cultural exchange.

We have experienced musicians to teach modern and traditional instruments. A workshop session will be delivered each week by all four musicians engaged within the project.

•    This project reaches indigenous communities in Leicester as well as Refugees and asylum seekers from all countries living in the city. We target youth groups to assist young people in understanding more about African migrants through the music and again impacting upon community cohesion in Leicester.

•    Participants will benefit through increased access to learn musical instruments from experienced musicians and trainers. It will provide opportunity to showcase their learning and build confidence to engage in other creative activities available to them through colleges and arts providers in the city.
