Community Leadership & Influence
Real change doesn't stop at individual support. It means communities having a stronger collective voice and AIG having the evidence and partnerships to make sure that voice is heard.
Why This Matters
In June 2026, we asked 32 community leaders from migrant-led organisations across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland what was missing. The answer was consistent: there was no dedicated space for migrant-led organisations to connect, share evidence and act together on shared challenges.
That conversation shaped this priority, and everything on this page is our response to it.
Lead to Change
Lead to Change is a collaborative network led by Afro Innovation Group, bringing together migrant-led organisations, community groups, faith organisations, social enterprises and voluntary organisations across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
As a member, you'll connect with other organisations, share community insight, identify shared challenges, develop practical solutions together, and influence local decision-making.
Our growth so far: launched with a founding cohort of community organisations, Lead to Change is growing towards 120+ member organisations by 2029.
Advocacy & Policy
We use evidence from our frontline work and from Lead to Change to influence the systems and policies that affect the communities we serve, including contributing to Leicester's Selective Tenancy Licensing measures to protect vulnerable tenants from poor and unsafe landlords.
