Children, Young People & Families
We support children, young people and families to overcome barriers affecting education, wellbeing, participation and access to opportunities.
Our support combines practical family guidance with youth-focused engagement, helping young people build confidence, reduce isolation and develop pathways into education, volunteering and skills development.
How we can help
Support is shaped around the needs of the young person and their family and may include:
-
Support navigating school, education and service access
-
Youth engagement and confidence-building activities
-
Family advocacy and structured problem-solving
-
Support addressing barriers affecting participation in education
-
Volunteering and progression opportunities for young people
-
Connections to skills development and other positive activities
-
Warm referrals to specialist children, youth and family services
-
Practical support where wider family circumstances are affecting a young person's stability or participation
Where specialist support is required, we help families understand the available options and connect with appropriate services.
Common barriers we see
Children and young people can experience additional challenges when their families are also navigating unfamiliar systems, financial pressures or significant changes in their circumstances.
Through our work, we support families experiencing:
-
Difficulties navigating schools and education systems
-
Social isolation and limited opportunities to connect with others
-
Language or communication barriers
-
Challenges associated with transition and settling into a new community
-
Limited access to positive activities, volunteering or skills opportunities
-
Young people becoming disengaged from education or community participation
-
Family pressures affecting a young person's wellbeing or stability
-
Difficulty understanding or accessing appropriate services
-
Safeguarding or wider wellbeing concerns
Our role is to identify practical barriers early and help families and young people access appropriate support and opportunities.
